【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversrequirementsandtestmethodsforexcessflowvalvesforuseinthermoplasticnaturalgaspipingsystems.However,itisexpectedthatexcessflowvalvesmanufacturedtotherequirementsofthisspecificationmayalsobeusedinothernaturalgaspipingsystems.1.2Excessflowvalvescoveredbythisspecificationaredesignedforinsertionintocomponentsfornaturalgassystemssuchaspipe,tubing,orfittingsinsizesfrom1/2CTSto2IPS.1.3Thetestsrequiredbythisspecificationareintendedtodeterminetheperformancecharacteristicsofanexcessflowvalveinstalledinastraightpieceofpipe.Anexcessflowvalvecouldpossiblybeinstalledinastraightpieceofpipe,inaserviceteeoutlet,aspartofamechanicalcoupling,orinotherconfigurations.Theperformancecharacteristicsoftheexcessflowvalvemaybesignificantlydifferentforeachinstalledconfiguration.UsersshouldconducttheirownteststodeterminetheinstalledperformancecharacteristicsorcontacttheEFVmanufacturerfortestdatafortheinstalledconfiguration.AdditionalguidanceonselectionandinstallationofexcessflowvalvesisincludedinAppendixX1.1.4Thetestsrequiredbythisspecificationarenotintendedtoberoutinequalitycontroltests.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
