【摘要】:TestMethodD4032fortestingstiffnessoffabricsisconsideredsatisfactoryforqualitycontroltesting.Itmayalsobeusedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentssincethetestmethodhasbeenusedextensivelyinthetradefield.IncasesofdifferencesinvaluesreportedbypurchaserandsellerusingTestMethodD4032foracceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoriesofthepurchaserandthesellershouldbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedonthetestingofspecimenstakenhomogeneouslyfromalotofmaterialofthetypebeingevaluated.Specimensshouldberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachofthelaboratories.Thecircularbendproceduregivesaforcevaluerelatedtofabricstiffness,simultaneouslyaveragingstiffnessinalldirections.ThestiffnesstestsinTestMethodsD1388areofthesingledirectionaltype.Thecircularbendprocedureissimpletoperformandmaybeusedforknitted,woven,ornonwovenfabrics,providedgagecapacityisinkeepingwithfabricrangetested.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthestiffnessoffabricsbythecircularbendprocedure.1.2Thistestmethodisgenerallyapplicabletoalltypesoffabrics,includingwoven,knittedandnonwovens,ofanyfibercontent.Forothermethodsoftestingforstiffness,refertoTestMethodsD1388.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretobeconsideredasstandard;thevaluesininch-poundunitsareincludedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
